Ivan Alejandro Rodriguez Jr. is a Cuban-American actor, writer, and musician, born and raised in Miami, FL, to Cuban refugees
He has been acting since the age of four, building a career rooted in performance, storytelling, and music.
He trained at The Stella Adler Studio, Terry Schreiber Acting Studio, The Neighborhood Playhouse, and Atlantic Acting School, developing a strong foundation in both classical and contemporary performance. Since moving to NYC, he has performed Off-Broadway at The Tank and The Chain, as well as at The Kraine Theater.
Some of his favorite roles include the titular role in Uncle Vanya (Annie Baker’s translation), Radium Girls (dir. Pamela Moller Kareman), and Red Velvet (dir. Timothy Stickney). He has also worked on a variety of independent films, collaborating with emerging directors to bring unique stories to life.
Beyond acting, Ivan is a storyteller in every sense—writing poetry, screenplays, and plays, often blending surrealism with deeply personal narratives. A drummer, he performs with a band and collaborates with other musicians. His passion for visual storytelling also extends to photography, capturing images that feel like fragments of dreamscapes.
Whether on stage, behind the camera, or setting a rhythm behind a drum kit, Ivan is constantly exploring new ways to bring stories to life.
